We learn from Wonkette that Tommy Thompson told a Jewish audience this:
“I’m in the private sector and for the first time in my life I’m earning money. You know that’s sort of part of the Jewish tradition and I do not find anything wrong with that,” Thompson told the crowd, according to Haaretz.
Reminds me of a day 21 years ago when I heard Pat Robertson address another Jewish group. Robertson proudly relayed how the Baron von Rothschild, a Jew, called compounding interest the eighth wonder of the world.
Another of our wonders was running the tschotke stand at the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
