Ya'know, it's not as if McGovern ever went away. Even after losing his SD U. S. Senate seat in the '80 Reagan sweep, he's still crazy after all these years. Couple Sundays ago, he had a long rant in the WashPost about how THIS WH is even worse than Tricky Dick's.

Go take a look at Romney's stimulus plan. It's even bigger than Bush's. $233B. Meanwhile, the conservative establishment is all backing Mitt. If you thought that (R) meant something different than (D), guess again.

I LOVE this idea! The Blue state swells that are already paying the Alternative Minimum Tax wouldn't get any. Serves the $%^&*$ right for electing liberal politicians that inflicted AltMin and other redistributional ideas on the rest of us.

something like McGovern's plan has been implemented: the Earned Income Tax Credit pays money to low-income working individuals and families.

It's probably a good idea to remember that McGovern was never President. Given that the present, and possibly future, Congress will never pass a tax cut, this may be the only way that Bush has to give back some of the excess taxation. It would, of course, be heavily progressive. If the Democrat majority opposes this, what does that say about their concern for the overtaxed middle class?

If $800 is good, isn't $1600 better?

Good thing Bush isn't a RINO.

Ontario Emperor, we were all naive back then. Now that we're savvy, it's obvious. It'll be paid for with a tax cut.

I was 10 years old in 1972, and when I heard about McGovern's proposal, I remember thinking, "If McGovern gives all this money away, where's the money going to come from?"
