Even after the Nazi juggernaut overran Czechoslovakia in 1939, Borah was telling FDR and Secretary of State Cordell Hull that Europe would remain at peace for the foreseeable future, and he knew that because his sources were better than theirs.

Thank God FDR and Hull were Joe Lieberman Democrats!</description>
