Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson are suing Vice President Cheney, Karl Rove and Scooter Libby for “gross invasion of privacy.”
Makes sense. A cornerstone of the Wilson-Plame family is the sacrosanct value of privacy. They really hate publicity.

You seem to be missing the point that the Vanity Fair cover (and other publicity for the couple) came AFTER her status as a covert CIA agent was exposed by Robert Novak at the behest of the White House.
I can’t believe you are actually DEFENDING the compromise of CIA assets for political gain. I don’t care if Valerie Plame chose to go on American Idol after her cover was blown; the fact is, the White House had absolutely no business compromising her covert status. Ask anyone in the CIA how they feel about it. Ask anyone who was associated with her cover company.

Mailman, Why do you say she wasn’t covert? Nobody prior to the Novak column knew she was working ‘for’ the CIA. Perhaps a few “civilians” were aware of her work /at/ the building (CIA), but no-one without high-level security clearance knew she worked out of the office of the Directorate Of Operations, the CIA’s clandestine branch.
Joe Wilson himself has extensive ties to delicate intel matters. He was the Deputy Cheif of Mission in Baghdad before he took over as Ambassador to Iraq in 1990. They know their way around Saddam Hussein, the Bush/Rumsfeld/Cheney connections prior to this presidency. They still have lots to say on the matter I’m sure. So do Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld, hence their career nosedive.

I hope the Wilsons, like the Ron Goldman family, sue Dick Cheney, Scooter Libby, George Bush and anyone else in this administration with deep pockets until they are penniless. It is bad enough that they became filthy rich on the blood nad treasure of the US Government and it’s citizens, but to “leak” the name of a National Security agent to the press is the most reprehensible act taking into account all the lip service by this bunch of thugs about “leakers”.
Send the entire lot of them to jail until they rot and deprive them of any livelyhood for the rest of their miserable lives.
