Um, "We let Hitler come to power . . . ." ??

He was appointed Chancellor in 1933 as the indirect result of one of those democratic elections people talk so much about. President Hindenberg, on the advice of a bunch of the usual German political hacks, appointed him (w/Franz von Papen, a 'reliable' hack, as Vice-Chancellor) to give HIM a chance to fail, too, like all the rest - and then it would be back to Weimar politics as usual.

The POTUS at the time was FDR - NOT an isolationist.

What should we have done, invade?

Rue Paul, Rue Paul, Rue Paul, Rue Paul: you're gonna rue the day you mentioned Ron Paul!

Speaking of Paul, it rhymes with which:

"After last night's GOP presidential debate, a Dennis Kucinich fan named Davis Fleetwood queried Texas Rep. Ron Paul about Kucinich's recent suggestion in New Hampshire that they run as a joint ticket. Paul called such talk "premature" and added "We're just getting going."

They would run on the Alien Party ticket!
