Are You Out Of Your Vulcan Mind!?

Rabbi Dana Milbank instructs us today:
Entine, in his opening remarks, mentioned another source of Jewish pride: the Vulcan gesture made by Spock in “Star Trek.” It was, he said, a symbol used by Jewish high priests that Leonard Nimoy learned in synagogue.
We should add parenthetically that we Jews also are proud to have inspired the legendary Vulcan slogan: Live long and kvetch.

The current issue of Newsweek (cover story on Kids and Food allergies), has an interesting online feature about The Latin Kings. The Latin Kings are terrorizing neighborhoods all over the US, but are doing their best “ethnic cleansing” effort in East LA. Unfortunately, when I noticed your “Vulvan gesture” (above), I immediately thought of the hand signal by The Latin Kings, which looks eerily similar.

What’s all this talk about vulva gestures? My vulva doesn’t make any gestures at all: it just sits there looking pretty and sweet.
Oh, they mean vulvan gestures: like Doctor Spock flipping Captin Kirk the bird.
Never mind.
