Happy 60th birthday, Israel!
Democracy. Military might. Strong, reliable ally of America. Front-lines in the global war on terror.
But more important, as CNN put it, “Israel is hip, sexy, and fun.”
I sure hope I look that good when I turn 60.

Isn’t everyone in Israel required to join the military anyhow? They could have took pictures of anyone in the whole country and used the Israeli military tag line.

Thats a good point effay, Israel has mandatory conscription of all citizens. But as a publicity / tourism stunt, this is actually pretty hilarious. Though I don’t see why they had to be in Maxim as “military women” why not just “Israeli girls” or something.
Also, to Burk As, while many Arab countries are fundamentalist, especially Saudi Arabia, there is a large orthodox Jewish population too, which is just as dangerous as any Muslim fanatic.

MMORPG: I think you’ve been looking at too many cartoons (well, my little daughter probably does too, but even she knows who the bad guys are) and it’s rotted your pubescent brain when you compare a real, ancient, God fearing sect of a genuine religion with a phony, sexist, racist, violent, gutterial “religion” one step removed from paganism that seeks to destroy those who are not of their belief. The most “dangerous” aspect of the “orthodox Jewish population” is that the rabbi might slip doing a circumciision and reduce a six to a five.

I used to be anti-Israel, when I was duped into the meme that ‘Muslims hate us because we support Israel’. I changed my opinion when I say Islamists attack many other countries, through terrorist attacks in London, Madrid, Bombay, Bali, Beslan in Russia, Thailand, etc. as well as other Islamic nations like Jordan, Turkey, Morocco, Pakistan, and Iraq. This showed me that Islamic terrorists really have a problem with everyone, and Israel is not really the reason. Israel is a scrappy little country that is superior to much larger hordes around them, and deserves respect for doing so much with so little.

It’s been an open secret for some time that Israelis really know how to party. The constant threat of attack must heighten the senses.
The last time Palestinians partied was on 9/11. May those dour prudes have nothing more to celebrate for the rest of their miserable lives.
