When it comes to tough negotiations, Bill Richardson likes to keep his diplomacy cordial.

“We had a cordial discussion,” he said in January of Mexican President Felipe Calderon.

His office described 2003 negotiations with North Korea as “cordial but candid.”

But when it comes to Hillary Clinton, things are cordial — and less. β€œIt was cordial, but a little heated,” he said of his conversation informing her that he was endorsing Barack Obama.

Bringing bad news to Hillary might have been the toughest mission this experienced peace negotiator has ever had to make.
