Take The Hints — Drop The Blintz

Regular readers of Extreme Mortman know one sure thing about this blog: we do have a clear bias.  We are steadfastly pro-Sephardic and anti-Ashkenazic.

So imagine our inner rage at reading this in the Washington Post’s Rudy Giuliani Florida story today:

At his campaign stops, the New York allegiance among the crowd is often vivid — and loud.

At the event at the New York-style deli here — blintzes, knishes and corned beef — many, probably most, in the crowd spoke in an accent that betrayed New York roots.

Yuck!  Bland Eastern European junk food!  Giuliani should embrace a big tent — Sephardic food.  Fish with rhubarb sauce, lamb with green garlic, meat loaf with sweet and sour tomato sauce — now we’re talking!  We’d even settle for cheese-stuffed peppers and  pumpkin-filled filo roses.  Sephardic soul food at its best.
It’s time to say to food like knishes: Knock it off!  Knever Again!

I think the Irish would be a little pissed off at you attributing corned beef solely to Eastern Europe. Just a warning.
