Extreme Trivia #72
July 11, 2007 at 4:54 pm
First, last week’s trivia answer — a special July 4th-themed double (1) July 4, 1960; and (2) Felix Grucci.— and the winning question by Peter Roff:
On what date was the 50th star added to the United States flag and what former member of Congress is also a member of the family that conducts the fireworks display over the National Mall every July 4?
Now, this week’s Extreme Trivia answer: ”John Edwards is one of those rare, naturally gifted politicians who doesn’t need a long record of public service to inspire confidence in his abilities.” What’s the question?

What was the reasoning about the Senator from North Carolina when the Des Moines Register Editorial Board “came to conclude he’s a cut above the others” in 2004?

What is one thing you will NEVER hear Ann Coulter say about former North Carolina Senator John Edwards?

“Now, this week’s Extreme Trivia answer: ”John Edwards is one of those rare, naturally gifted politicians who doesn’t need a long record of public service to inspire confidence in his abilities.” As Larry King might ask: “What’s the question?”
As Mike Chertoff might say, my “gut feeling” is that only his goofy wife would say something so silly about The Breck Girl, but, it has to be some lunkhead media type, say, Bill Moyers, or some other Ratheresque dud.
But the real answer is that The Breck Girl does “need” to look goooood:

Wayback to the 50th star. In the early 1970s, our Boy Scout troop actually had a 49 star flag (from the year between the time that Alaska’s star was added, to the time that Hawaii’s star was added).
