July 3, 2007 at 8:51 am

First, last week’s trivia answer — Concerto No. 2 for Solo Trumpet and Strings (3rd Movement) Composed by Johann Melchior Molter — and the winning questions:

  • Peter Roff: What is the name of the piece of music used by C-SPAN for Washington Journal and who composed it?
  • Dr. Wong: What musical piece makes political junkies salivate and come running to their television sets, in the same way the words, “Paris Hilton Update - coming up next on CNN!” makes Nicole Richie run to hers?

Now, this week’s Extreme Trivia answer — and a special double version, you have to get both correct: (1) July 4, 1960; and (2)  Felix Grucci.  What are the questions?

On what date was the 50th star added to the United States flag and what former member of Congress is also a member of the family that conducts the fireworks display over the National Mall every July 4?
