Send Hoyers, Guns, And Money

A Hill insider notes this Politico story, “GOP Forces House Democrats To Pull DC Voting Bill” and files this first-hand account with Extreme Mortman:
Hoyer seen yelling at staff…
Eleanor Holmes Norton in a daze of disbelief…
Pelosi missing in action while trying to round up votes for the supplemental.
Tension is building.
And you thought things were bad in Baghdad!

This is what you get when a Party runs on nothing but “I hate Bush”. Fine, they got elected but they all ran in different directions.
If they had run FOR something, anything, they would have won or lost but they’d have a direction.

Wow — if they can get the Iraq supplemental bill passed when they’re supposedly in disarray, imagine what will happen when they meet your standards of organization…

Let’s see:
1) Not getting the bill passed initially had nothing to do with Republican opposition really but principled progressive opposition that it wasn’t strong enough.
2) Wow - they took an extra day to get it passed. Whatever shall we do as our government falls apart before our eyes?
3) “And you thought things were bad in Baghdad” - that’s simply shameless and couldn’t be a less appropriate analogy. People are dying in Baghdad every freaking day. The government is in shambles. And, regardless of your position on the war, its impossible to avoid our responsibility in unleashing that calamity. And you think its a joke, a throwaway line to attack the House leader about some quickly resolved intraparty differences in bill language.
Time to turn in your keyboard.
PS I would add given how often the Politico is getting things totally wrong, you might reconsider them as a reliable source, well, except that you apparently don’t care much for reliability.
