The Alien and Sedition Acts were a bad lot, but that particular criticism doesn't hold. The fevered idea that specific legislation somehow allows a president "to do anything he wants" is curable by resorting to, uh, the actual words of the legislation. Even a good summary will do, campers. I notice that folks unable to do simple research are far more likely to drag Bush into the complaint.
