Hillary Clinton speaking to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee Wednesday:
Let me leave you with just this glimpse of why America matters and why AIPAC matters. In her memoir, one of my personal heroines, Golda Meir, wrote about the wonderful moment 60 years ago when Israel joined the family of nations and America stood at her side.
Here’s what she wrote: “A few minutes after midnight, my phone rang. It had been ringing all evening and, as I ran to answer it, I wondered what bad news I would hear now.”
The news couldn’t have been worse than this phone call…

We’ve enough of her using “I Won’t Back Down” to make a point.
A good old-fashioned staring contest would do just as well.

The always blunt Harold Ickes is still on a roll…

Pantsuits!
Legendary designer Yves Saint Laurent, who reworked the rules of fashion by putting women into elegant pantsuits that came to define how modern women dressed, died Sunday evening….
… sleek pantsuits that underlined Saint Laurent’s statement on equality of the sexes. He showed that women could wear “men’s clothes,” which when tailored to the female form became an emblem of elegant femininity.
Pantsuits!
What a golden opportunity for Hillary Clinton to prove her worth as Barack Obama’s running-mate. She should attend Saint Laurent’s funeral — just like a real vice president. And wear her trademark outfit. Surely she has one in black.

Say what you will about Harold Ickes, he sure looked sharp on “Meet the Press” today. Not his words or argument, neither of which we really could comprehend, but his outfit. He was certainly the best dressed guest on the Sunday show in a long time.
Take a look at this dashing combination …

New York Times, via Instapundit:
As the votes on the agreements were taken, one woman, wearing a blue “Team Hillary” shirt, shoved a man in a suit and tie wearing a small Obama button on his lapel. Another woman in a white Clinton shirt hung her head in her hands.
“That was a crime!” a man shouted.
“McCain in ’08! McCain in ’08!” a woman yelled from the back of the room. “No-bama! No-bama!”

We find this gem at Wired:
As we head into the weekend, Hillary Clinton supporters are headed to the Marriott-Wardman Park Hotel in the leafy Woodley Park neighborhood of Washington DC to rally for their candidate.
It’s going to be a zoo out there, and we’re not talking about the National Zoo around the corner from the hotel.
To lighten the tension, or perhaps underscore how tortured the Clinton camp’s arguments have become, the online media distribution company 60 Frames recently created this illuminating character sketch of Young Hillary Clinton.

C-SPAN is providing live coverarage on Saturday of the DNC’s Rules & Bylaways committee meeting from the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. The Rules and Bylaws Committee will consider the two challenges that have been filed concerning the seating of delegations from Florida and Michigan.
Good thing C-SPAN will be there — just in case things get out of hand.

We learn …
The Democratic presidential race is heading into a fractious end game as supporters of Hillary Rodham Clinton mobilize for a protest Saturday to demand that the party count two outlawed primaries that favored her.
In the interest of being friendly to our environment, hopefully the protesters can recycle these signs…
