Willie Ever Be Seen Again?

Maryland’s oldest maximum-security prison, the Maryland House of Correction in Jessup, has closed.
Extreme Mortman reader RichardA, a veteran of Maryland and Maryland-related politics, wonders the fate of the prison’s most famous political prisoner, Willie Horton.
Horton was transferred there on April 18, 1996, no thanks to Michael Dukakis.
No word on Horton’s whereabouts since. Please remain calm but vigiliant, be on the lookout — and report to your local law enforcement authorities any suspicious looking negative ads.

Since Judge Femia said he sentenced Willie to 2 consecutive life terms (plus additional consecutive years for using a deadly weapon - a knife - in a crime of violence) so that “he would never draw a free breath of air again”, I think the IDEA was that NONE of us would be seeing him!

Ya know, I hear the MD Legislature is on the verge of repealing its laws against felons voting - even Willie.
Pretty insane, really.

Excellent catch His Extremeness: was thinking about that my own darn self being very familial with the true Old Willie Boy:
“Although his given name is William, he calls himself William, court records cite him as William, a July 1988 Reader’s Digest article identifies him as William J. Horton, Jr.,and press reports prior to the Republican ad and speech blitz name him “William,” the Bush campaign and its supporting PACs identified the furloughed convict as “Willie” Horton. Even the crusading anti-Dukakis newspaper that won a Pulitzer Prize for its expose on the furlough program consistently identifies Horton as William Horton or William Horton, Jr. When the Maryland man who was stabbed by the furloughed convict contacted the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune, he too referred to Horton as William Horton. In his account of the attack in the PAC ad, however, that man, Clifford Barnes, instead identifies the convict as “Willie” Horton.”
Even though this is true:
“Ya know, I hear the MD Legislature is on the verge of repealing its laws against felons voting - even Willie. Pretty insane, really.”
It’s a little late for Willie to vote for Dukakis!
