A whirlwind 24 hours here at the Ledo Pizza glass-enclosed nerve center of Extreme Mortman. Our Politico piece on Michael Savage versus C-SPAN and Brian Lamb got picked up by Drudge, elicited praise from Hugh Hewitt (”The Brilliant Brian Lamb,”), and sparked this note from our old boss Ken Tomlinson, himself a veteran of balance battles from his public broadcasting days: “C-SPAN is a model for fairness in its presentation of insightful news and current affairs that we should all aspire to meet.”
But the greatest moment came from Dr. Michael Savage himself, whose website refers to yours truly as an “unknown blogger.” That’s an important steppingstone toward our career goal of becoming an “unknown comic.”

That’s funny. I suppose “unknown” is a relative term. I read your piece to a friend, and she thought Michael Savage was the sex columnist Dan Savage.

As a certified troglodyte myself, I can’t bear to hear the sound of Michael Savage’s voice. He is everything the Left says about non-leftists, and worse. What truth and accuracy he may have on display are overwhelmed by the vitriol and venom. I have no us for him.

I have long believed that Savage is simply a leftist plant trying to make conservatives look bad, and I wonder if his idiot supporters on that thread aren’t the same thing. Jeffersonian is right, he is what liberals claim that Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, etc., are: loud-mouthed blowhards who are completely uninformed and simply sit around ranting to audiences who don’t know any better. It’s hard to believe that someone who is really like that could actually get national syndication.

That “unknown blogger” thing is not quite the honor you’d hoped, Howard. I’ve recently heard Savage refer to Glenn Reynolds as an “unknown blogger.”
But then, the list of things, people, and events Savage knows nothing about is nearly endless.
