Brattle And Hum

March 4, 2008 at 9:38 pm

Vermont is the only state in the Union that President Bush hasn’t visited.

No wonder.  Check out what’s on the ballot today in the enlightened town of Brattleboro (from WPTZ):

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. — Voters in Brattleboro are heading to the polls Tuesday facing a novel proposition — an article calling for the indictment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney for violating the Constitution.

The item is more symbolic than substantive, according to officials. It seeks to have police arrest Bush and Cheney if they ever visit Brattleboro or to extradite them for prosecution elsewhere — if they’re not impeached first.

Town Clerk Annette Cappy said the town attorney has no legal authority to draw up any papers to allow police officers to arrest Bush or Cheney.

Organizers of the indictment campaign were frustrated that Bush-Cheney indictment article to the back side of the ballot, which they said would cause some people to miss it.

Ah — must be why they felt compelled to produce these helpful signs:

    Hello,
I was in Brattleboro today at the High School. I shot video and posted it on youtube, here:

I think we should contact all elected officials in Vermont and ask them to draw up an arrest warrant for Bush and Cheney.

Bush, Cheney, and others should be arrested, handcuffed, shackled, and taken in a standard inmate van after extradition proceedings to stand trial in Vermont.

    I’ll sign a complaint.

If you want to know why I’d do that, google my full name.

All Americans have suffered too long. Bush and Cheney have caused a “Domino Effect”. All officials under Bush and Cheney think that diluting the US Constitution, profiteering, racketeering, obstruction of justice, lying, perjury, breaking the law, and citizen abuse is ok, and officials don’t lose their jobs.

It is time to give them all a reality check, from the top, down.

I’m sorry about my son’s post as he means well, but isn’t well: he has not been taking his meds.

    Hey Steven’s mom,
No apology necessary. He may not be well, but his politics and heart are in the right place. And the right place is on the left.

Hey You Loafing Fool: Indeed our son’s heart remains where it was but he lost his brain years ago and it was replaced with his sphincter. Were it still World War Two and Demonrat FDR was still interning the Japs, would you and our pathetic son demand his arrest? And I notice you have no link to your name: my name links to something we can only hope and pray happens to the murderists who you believe need protection from President Bush and Vice President Cheney. Maybe you should just desert your country and join them since you don’t seem to like it here so much: commie.
