November 13, 2007 at 10:22 am
Now, the next installment in Extreme Mortman’s regular feature: A peek inside the blog-reading habits
of our nation’s top reporters and media celebrities. Greta Wodele is C-SPAN’s political producer and regular host of “Washington Journal,” a daily three-hour public affairs program. Behind the scenes, Greta helps plan and edit C-SPAN’s campaign programming, including the presidential and state races. Prior to joining C-SPAN, she covered Senate leadership for CongressDaily.
Please give a warm Extreme Mortman welcome to Greta Wodele. Here are the blogs Greta Wodele tells Extreme Mortman she reads:
When I am not reading a dozen newspapers for “Washington Journal,” I surf the web for both politics and policy.
To start the day:
- ABC’s “The Note” NBC’s “First Read” or the Drudge Report — a quick look at the day’s headlines and news trends.
- Hotline’s “Wake-Up Call” – one-stop shopping for both the presidential and state races.
Throughout the day:
- Wall Street Journal’s Washington Wire blog written by Susan Davis.
- Howard Mortman’s blog (of course!)
- Washington Post’s “The Fix” by Chris Cillizza as well as the Post’s “Capitol Briefing” by Paul Kane.
- Politico’s “The Crypt” for policy and Ben Smith and Jonathan Martin’s political blogs.
- For investigative pieces, I read ABC’s “The Blotter.” Brian Ross and his investigative team consistently scoop the competition.
For the pulse of the party loyalists:
For gossip:
- Media Bistro’s Fishbowl DC and TVNewser as well as Mary Ann Aker’s blog “The Sleuth” on Washingtonpost.com.
