Bobby Rush Is Making Sense

Item:

The race to replace Barack Obama as Illinois’ junior senator heated up Tuesday as Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., called on Gov. Rod Blagojevich to name a black man or woman to the seat.

By invoking race, Rush, who is black, drove a potential wedge between the prospective white and black contenders for the seat. Rush said it would be a “national disgrace” if Obama’s seat were not filled by an African American.

Fair enough.  Might we suggest a potential name — someone who’s experienced with Illinois politics and fulfills the mandate for a new bipartisan era?

That wouldn’t be bipartisan, though; after running behind even Ron Paul this year for the GOP poresidential nomination, Dr. Keyes bolted Republicans for the Constitution Party. Once they denied him their nomination, he accepted that of the then and still decrepit American Independent party of the late segregationist George Corley Wallace

That would octi? rather than bipartisan though; after running behind even Ron Paul for the GOP nomination this year, Dr.Keyes bolted Republicans for the Constitution Party; once they opted for someone else, he bolted in a hissy for the nod of the then and still decrepit American Independent Party, the onetime haven of Alabama segregationist George Corley Wallace.

Besides, he’s never give up his speaking fees for an office where he might have to listen to people.
