A Palin Demotion
September 5, 2008 at 6:32 am
Interesting description of Sarah Palin by Joe Biden in a Virginia speech:
“I heard a very — by the way, and I mean that sincerely — very strong and a very good political speech from a lieutenant governor of Alaska, who I think will be very formidable — and very formidable not only in the campaign.”
Lieutenant governor? If that’s how it’s gonna be, perhaps Sarah Palin might do well to refer to Barack Obama in her speeches as the junior senator from Illinois. At least that would be factual.

Demotion? Obama had her just a mayor and this is a promotion. Biden was wise to correct this gaffe, and the lieutenant seantor is to be commended.

Q: How do we know Joe Biden is about to make a gaffe?
A: Watch his lips. If they’re moving, hilarity will surely ensue.

Or refer to Joe Biden as Lieutenant Senator Biden.

I think it’s only fair to refer to state* Senator Biden properly.
After all, as a state* Senator, he’s due all the respect and honors of his position - Particularly since he’s spent so many years there, without advancing at all…After all, one would expect that after so many years in the same job, he’d have been due a promotion at some time.

The ABC newsbody anchoring the convention described Fred Thompson as the “Senator from Wisconsin” after his speech as they were exiting to commercial. I’m sure that both Russ Feingold and the people of Tennessee would be surprised to hear that.
