60 years ago, the birth of Israel.
50 years ago, El Al breaks the world record for speed with a flight time of 7 hours and 44 minutes on the nonstop New York/London route.
40 years ago, the birth of William Daroff.
The third of these great milestones was celebrated tonight at Eli’s restaurant in DC. The food was certified kosher, and William Daroff, Vice President for Public Policy and Director of the Washington Office of United Jewish Communities (UJC), was certified 40.
