Conservative pollster Frank Luntz in today’s Washington Post:

“They honestly need a baseball bat against the head.  Because if they don’t change the lexicon immediately, as bad as this election is going to be, they’re going to lose the presidency in 2008.”

We’ve got neocons.  We’ve got paleocons.  Must be time for lexicons.

But will they listen? Apparently Bush is the only one who has taken Luntz’s advice seriously lately. He has stopped using his old language on Iraq, and even today at his press conference tried out some new language. Is the next two weeks enough time to come up with something better than the “it will be worse if they win” they are using now? No one knows the need for new language better than GOPes such as Sen. Allen, but time is short, most debates are over…

But who knows? Maybe this new Lexicon could include a footnote that states sometimes silence is golden. The GOP may not like all the money that Pelosi is raising right now, but they like nothing better than letting her speak when she paints the far-left picture. I think if the GOP wants to keep the House it’ll have to be a leprechaun not a lexicon that saves them.

    Props to Luntz.
