Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Friday before the 2008 election, in Columbus, OH:

Headlining an event titled “Judgment Day,” California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger tonight delivered an impassioned pitch for electing GOP presidential nominee John McCain before a packed arena of supporters.

While the former bodybuilder and moderate Republican started his pitch on a humorous note — suggesting Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama should come to his Arnold’s Classic bodybuilding in Ohio next spring “because he needs to do something about those skinny legs” and because he needs to “beef up those scrawny little arms” — the governor quickly pivoted to attack Obama as a liberal akin to European socialists.

“I left Europe four decades ago because socialism has killed opportunities there,” he said, sparking an extended round of applause. “In recent years, Europe has realized its mistakes, has begun rolling back some of its ’spread the wealth’ policies… But now Senator Obama says he wants to pursue those same ’spread the wealth’ ideas.”

‘’I only play the Terminator in my movies.  But let me tell you, when it comes to the American future, Michael Dukakis will be the real Terminator.'’
